Our Tiny Houseguest

Matt and I have a tiny little house guest named Zoey! My friend Andrea is on a road trip , so we are watching her lovely little girl Zoey all week! She is the best little guest ever! Her and Daisy are getting along splendidly, and it's nice to have another little set of paws around!

Here's just a few pics of her lounging about.

Wedding Weekend Pt. 1

Hello! I'm back from wedding week! My brother is now married to a completely wonderful girl!
Wanna see what I was up to all weekend?
Here we go!

Michael (my brother) got married in Safety Harbor Florida , which is about an hour away from where Matt and I live. So we got a chance a listen to our new music, two of our favorites have recently released new albums...that's the best!

You may or may not have heard of The Rocket Summer, but they are amazing! Such, energizing upbeat music!

And you all know my love for She and Him. Volume Two surpasses my expectations, and I may even like it better than Volume 1 (gasp) .
If you want a chance to WIN She and Him Volume 2, stop by on Friday and enter in the GIVEAWAY!
The wedding and reception were both at the lovely Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, where we also stayed the weekend.
Here are Michael and Jenny being silly on the balcony...I love them!

Rehearsal dinner decorations, and there's the lovebirds again!
We had THE BEST tiramisu for dessert.
Matt and I after the rehearsal

Sorry to be gone all week, but I have a lot of fun things planned the next couple weeks!
Stay tuned!

Happy Monday everyone!

4. She and Him Volume One (a.k.a. the best Cd EVER!)

If you love getting free stuff, then stay tuned for future giveaways!

Also , I will be taking this week away from blogging. My brother is getting married on Saturday, so I have a TON of family members coming into town, as well as lots of wedding festivities, and a packing and to-do list to attend to. But no worries, I will be back next week to share new ideas and current crafts and obsessions!

Friday Favorites!

It's time for dun-dun-dun-duh!....This weeks addition of my Friday Favorites!
Let's get started!

1. Starbucks Gazebo Bold Blend Coffee=my favorite coffee ANY FRIDAY EVER!
I work at Starbucks and we are allowed a free pound of coffee a week, during the summer (the only time of year this blend is available) I stock pile to hold me over for the rest of the year. I recently pulled out another package of this *amazing blend and have been in heaven! Oh Gazebo...why do I have to portion out my stock pile of you and occasionally have to drink other coffees instead...you know you're the only one for me .

2. I have apparently been living under a rock for the last 10 years as I had never read any Harry Potter books or seen a single Harry Potter movie before this week.Matt enjoys them quite a bit and so we have been having Harry Potter marathons this week to get me up to speed. I've been entrenched in the story-lines all week.....I don't know how I've missed out for so long they are really good! Can't wait for the new one!

3. I saw this recipe for Summer Shrimp Rolls in a back issue of Rachael Ray magazine this week and I am dying to try it out! As warm weather comes around I always crave shrimp I don't know why but this recipe look delicious and easy to make...it's going on the menu this week!

4. Bubbles! As you know I am craving all things Spring these days. I long to take long walks, play croquet, fly kites, and especially for some reason blow bubbles! Luckily for my birthday last week my good friend Andrea got my this adorable little Hello Kitty bubble blower! I love it so much ! Come on...you know you want one too!

I hope you are all having a splendid Friday night!
Tomorrow I will reveal what One Sheep won from my last Friday Favorites giveaway!

It's Nifty Thrifty Thursday

The thrifting process has been very good to me lately, I have been finding lots of my favorites!
My favorite thrift shop would have to be a little place called Nearly New, they are cheap cheap cheap and I always find what I'm looking for!

Set of three strawberry canisters only cost me $3! Now they hold my crafting supplies

I love to find interesting glassware, the best is to find funny little mugs
like the brown one below, the newest to the family and my current favorite for coffee.

I'm starting a collection of mis-matched tea cups and saucers ( which I generally find for about .50 each) and pretty pastel goblets. I have a tea party plan!
I loooooooove this container! Only three dollars and she was mine! .....She now lives in my bathroom.
I was so excited to find this cosmetics case, so many memories! (and only $2!)
This is my new take along crafting kit!
Many more nifty thrifty Thursdays to come!
Not every week but probably every other Thursday....lovely day!

Spick and Span

It's late Wednesday night and I am cleaning and organizing away! Why?
Tomorrow is my day off from work and for my sanity I need some time to zone out into creativity land. I have been so busy (and sleepy when I'm not busy) lately that I have not had time to let my mind wander and to let my inspirations guide me. So many times my day off is filled with plans with people, chores, or errands...but not tomorrow!
Tomorrow is devoted to the creative process!
(which is why I have been cleaning and organizing like a maniac for the last two days!)

On the (not really) agenda for tomorrow:

-learn how to use my vintage flower loom (hello online tutorial!)

-walk with Daisy in the sun

-rummage through the itunes store to find my next creativity inducing album

-make a fun playlist for a bachelorette party I am throwing on Saturday

-make a new necklace

- practice my crochet skills

Also tomorrow I will be posting with a new feature I like to call "Nifty Thrifty"
I will share my recent thrifting finds.....some vintage, some just plain neat!

Anna Friel...my current celebrity muse

I just discovered her, and so far I like what I see! She is a British born actress with charm and style...and I want to see everything that she has been in ! The photo below is a promotion shot from Breakfast at Tiffany's the stage edition ( London) , in which she stars as Holly Golightly.

I love how she pulls off crinkle cut hair and funky style!

It's probably no surprise that Anna Friel stars as Charlotte (Chuck) Charles in the TV show I am currently obsessing over Pushing Daisies. All of the colorful things she wears in Pushing Daisies are so inspiring!
Happy Tuesday!

I've Done it Again!

I must admit that in the last couple weeks with preparations for my brother's wedding and all of the festivities that go along with it I have not set aside ANY time to create and craft. But a while ago I did make this super cute Ipod case! My Ipod was getting very scratched up in my purse and I needed some kind of covering for it, to save it from looking completely crappy.....I like to think I made it a dress!
I looked up how to stitch my crocheted pieces together in the same kid's crochet book I learned to crochet from.

How do you think I did? First try at the stitching part. I'm just glad that I'm not so terrible that I can't make anything worth actually using!
I'm so proud!

Pushing Daisies

Have any of you seen Pushing Daisies? I've been getting discs from the two seasons through my Netflix and I am in love! I'm so sad that there are only two seasons. The whole plot of the show is so quirky (there is a summary I found on youtube at the bottom of this post), and the design of all the clothing and interiors is colorful and captivating!
I must own this show on dvd, it inspires me so much! Kristen Chenoweth is hilarious and I would wear every article of clothing that Chuck wears.
Breath taking show, give it a watch!

Meet Daisy

Hello all! I last introduced you to Matt my amazingly talented husband who I have been priveledged to be married to for the last 3 years , and now I would like to introduce you to the other member of our little family...... her name is Daisy and she is the sweetest miniature dachshund you are sure to meet! I love to dress her in my scraps as I craft (she pulls of the pink bow, no?) and smother her with snuggles!
Here's a few photos of my puppy love.... just try not to fall in love, I dare you!

I also wanted to share a project I saw a couple days ago on A Beautiful Mess that I am SO EXCITED to try! Pet portraits! I think Daisy would be ADORABLE as a cartoon version!
( with those flappy little ears of hers! )
I have not ever tried to paint or draw, I mean really try. But I think I am willing to give it a whirl in hopes it will turn out HALF as cute as Elsie's portrait of Suki!
This project is happening very soon! I will be sure to post pictures of the end result.
(whatever that may be)
Happy thoughts!
