5 Reasons to Look Forward to Fall

Thank goodness it's September! Oh, this Florida heat!
We are all coming into the part of the year known as fall (only sort-of fall here in Tampa Florida where the heat is still BLAZING!)
However....I do so look forward to the chilling weather that the fall months do bring!
I got to thinking this week?....What is it i am looking forward to most this year ?
Here's the top 5!

1. Scarves! (and boots!)
Once the cool weather rolls in this year I want to wear scarves with everything!
Maybe even crochet a few !
Even lightweight or silk scarves can make me feel more like fall even when worn with a tank top!
Here's one of my favorites from Modcloth.com!

2. Autumn Colors!
Here in Florida there are two colors to see the leaves. Green......and brown. (dead)
That does not mean that I don't adore the changing leaves of the fall season!

3. The NEW season of The Office!
Oh! What is going to happen next?! One of my favorite pass-times is to watch The Office seasons 1-6 while I craft!
(and this jsut happens to be one of my favorite moments from the show)

4. Bike Rides!
Matt and I got bikes this year! He has taken his out a few times but it has been waaaaay too hot for me to take mine out . But once the cool weather is upon us I'm busting that baby out!
If anyone knows where I can find a cute basket please comment with a link!

5. Watching Beauty and The Beast 100 times!
I'm not sure why really but Beauty and The Beast seems like such a autumn-time movie to me!
It's a childhood classic for me and this season I would love to become acquainted with it again!

I just LOVE this scene with the birds!

Oh! I can't just limit it to five reasons to be excited for fall!
Let's get you to ten!
6. making chili, stews, and other cold weather yums!
7. Pumpkin Spice lattes!
8. Learning to crochet a hat!
9. Halloween! (what will I be this year??)
10. The Indie Craft Show on October 16th!

Do you have big ideas for fall?

Cup Sleeve Progress!

Hello all!
Wow! I'm sorry it's been an entire week since you've heard a peep from me, I have been working hours at Starbucks and crafting away in preparation for the upcoming Indie Craft Show!
I cannot believe it's just in over a month and a half!
I have never organized something like this before but I am so excited, I have been doing just about nothing except making plans for the show and making things to sell. This is going to be hard work but I think it will be so much fun and will really pay off!

Here's a peek at the sights I've been seeing most lately.

Yarn everywhere!

Pretty Buttons! :)

The finished product! A sea of crocheted cup sleeves!

I have 55 so far but my goal is to bring 150 to the Indie Craft Show on October 16!
Now I'm off to give my crafty hands a rest and spend some time with Matt and Daisy!

Little things about me : Confession #2

Confession: I LOVE the sound of glass breaking!
I don't enjoy the sounds of car accidents or of something I love breaking on the floor.
But I do love the sound so much!

"Second star to the right and straight on till morning."

Well campers, it's Wednesday and we are officially half way through the week!
I have been thinking this week as I zone out into craft-land about what inspires me.
I loooove Peter Pan!
It has always been one of my favorite Disney movies (along with Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid! )
I looked it up on weheartit.com , a fabulous website similar to flickr where anyone can post photos for all to see! Here's what I found!
So inspiring!

Loom flowers!

It's been two wonderful days full of creating!
I could not feel more inspired right now!
I have taken a short break from making crocheted cup sleeves , in order to refresh my point of view.
I looked through all of my craft supplies to figure out what I wanted to do next.
I purchased a vintage flower loom at a thrift shop for .25 months ago, but I never knew how to use it...what a perfect time to learn!
Then I did what I always do when I need to learn a brand new technique, I googled it!

I found tons of tutorials and then when on to make about twenty loom flowers...this may just be my new favorite project..I love these little blooms so much!

I hope your weekend is lovely!
Is anyone else as ready for fall as I am??

What's in a Name?

Wow! Busy weeks here in the Kent household lately!

Matt has been very busy building his photography business Matthew R Photo,
and I have been slaving away making crocheted cup sleeves
to sell in the craft show I'm putting together!
I could not be more excited about this show!
The date has been set for Saturday, October 16th!
So, now I will be hard at work building some inventory, and setting up my website.
But first.... I need to NAME my business!
I've gone back and forth between several names but I think the one that I like best is
Lemon Made!
It's sort of a play-on-words with lemonade which is why I like it.
When life gives you lemons, craft them into something lovely!

I'll be making as many of these lovelies as my hands will allow!
