I'm Taking a Break

For most people, they try to overhaul some aspect of their life on January first, vowing to submit themselves to some resolution they half-heartedly made at a New Years Eve Party....so I guess I'm a little late...

I have decided to take a bit of a break from blogging and business...I need to refocus and also redesign. I plan to completely overhaul the look of the blog, get new business cards, find some awesome craft shows to take part in and re-create my displays.

But never fear I do plan on coming back! I just need to get my ducks in a row!

Inspire Me Monday

It's Monday once again and that means that I have been thinking about what is inspiring me this week.

I do have a small show coming up at the end of the month so my thoughts have been filled with my display. I sort of want to tone down some of the brightness since my sleeves themselves tend to be so colorful.

Here are some photos of my past displays, I think I want to take the color palette into more greys and light blues?

I'm not too sure but I do think I need to tone it down just a bit...thougts?

Also, I don't know how many of you have seen Tangled but I ADORE it ! Instant classic in my heart! Sweet little Princess movie filled with magic...what's not to love?

Inspire Me Monday : Current Favorite Online Read

It's a rainy rainy day here in Florida. My day has been filled with errand running, a a lot of work on crochet projects for my shop. Since I have been able to be creative today I have had a lot of time to think about what is inspiring me right now.

Whenever I sit down to catch up on my favorite blog reads I always find myself at Igobykatie.com. Katie is the owner of Darlingtonia Moccasin Co. and Collected, a shop filled with vintage wares and handmade pieces.

She is such a lovely entreoupernour. I find her handmade goods and general aesthetic pleasing and so inspiring , and I love her little peeks into how her business operates. She shows everything from her creative process, to workflow, and even right down to her packaging!

Isn't she adorable...and bonus! She's got a sweet little miniature dachshund named Beatrix that she frequently shares details about!

Fashion Dilemma Weekly Roundup : Week 4!

It's Friday once again! I know that for some of you that means you work (or school) week is finally over and you can breathe a big sigh of relief! It's the weekend! But the simple fact that it's Friday means that it's time for the Fashion Dilemma weekly roundup!

I really think that my fashion sensibilities are getting better with every week! Just the simple act of seeing photos of my outfits has helped me to select them better I think! I even wore dresses twice this week!

But I must apologize for the fact that once again I neglected to remember to take photos of EVERY outfit I wore this week. Some of the times I just plum forgot and others well....I was running behind and in such hurry to leave the house that I couldn't spare the time to stop and snap a photo! Well...there you have it. It's not much but there is this weeks fashion story! I think that outfit #3 is the one that I felt the best in! I get sick of dresses really quickly but I love the ease of a good pair of jeans!

I'm also sensing a few patterns in where I tend to shop the most (Forever 21) and which are my favorite accessories (usually a necklace that I have recently made.

I do plan to share some fun from my adventures in learning to make jewelry...but more on that later!

Inspire Me Monday : More Movie Love!

Happy Monday campers! It's time once again for Inspire Me Monday! I got so excited with the movie theme of last weeks edition that I thought I would extend it into this week too!

Hello!

I hope your weekend was wonderful! I had a good one with Matt!

I have been thinking a lot about my blog and my business recently and I want to make a few changes, upgrades really.

First things first, I think that this blog needs a bit of a lift.

While I have been very inspired to blog lately and have been doing it religiously it has become something that is very rewarding but it's the little things really.

Like the fact that I am still using a Blogger template. I want something of my own!

So, here in the next couple weeks The Lovely Lemon is getting a little facelift!

The content sill stay the same but it will start to look a little bit different around here!

I hope that you enjoy the new look and the changes that are coming!

Fashion Dilemma : Weeks 2 and 3

Hello my friends!

This will be an extra long fashion dilemma post due to the fact that I kept forgetting to take photos of my outfits so I had to do a little catch-up shoot with Matt for what I wore over the weekend on our trip to Savannah.

I have to say it has been a bit odd to be taking photos of what I am wearing when I leave my house, but it has also been educational. Sometimes you just don't realize how things look until you see photos.

That's what this challenge is all about really. I want to better educate myself on what is working with my fashion choices and what is not. What am I wearing that is making me look too old, too young, or just plain unflattering?
