I'm going to Summer Camp!

....well the Red Velvet Art Summer Camp online class. I'm so excited ! I think having some crafting goals over the summer and a push to try new and different techniques and styles will be good for me. There are times when I really want to create but I just don't know where to start so I end up just sitting in front of the tv or something, but now I have a list of projects right in front of me to try!

I think the project I am most looking forward to is the art journal. I have never made one before but I love the idea of it. I did journal once upon a time but not like that.

I'm also very excited to meet fellow craft bloggers!

Crochet a go-go

Crochet has stolen my heart! Learning to crochet was first on my list of craft techniques to learn. I love choosing the yarn, it's one of my favorite parts of the whole project!

As much as I can lately, I have been practicing and practicing, and have managed to make some things that I can actually use! I still only know the basic basics of crochet, but I want to learn more. I would love to learn how to make granny squares, and whatever "flowerdy" pattern is in the bottom photo.

On the Must Have Movie List: Penelope!

Matt and I watched Penelope last night, I had forgotten how cute that movie is!
Christina Ricci plays Penelope, a young girl that was born with a pigs nose as the result of a family curse.
Ok, so it's a far fetched plot line but this film is lovely.
I love everything that Penelope wears, Catherine O'Hara is hilarious as Penelope's over-protective mother, and James McAvoy is adorable!

Also, I'm considering joining the Red Velvet Art Summer Camp online class.
I'm interested in learning some new techniques and having specific projects to focus on.
I think it will be fun the have the motivation to craft through this class and also meet some fellow online crafters! Are any of you going to partake of this class?

New Favorite : Kate Micucci

I stumbled upon the best music this week! Kate Micucci is a actress/musician who is hilarious! She has been in episodes of How I Met Your Mother, and Scrubs and in movies like Bart Got a Room, and When in Rome (most recently) .

I love her!

I know that I grew up watching him on Tv everyday so I'm love that in the song she says that he is "the man".

Fancy Free

Hello all! Sorry for the absence but I have been feeling creatively challanged lately. I really long to sit on a quiet afternoon and create, escape into lala land , doodle to me hearts content....but whenever I want to commit time to this the most, something gets in the way. Plans, chores, bills, work blah blah blah.

My wish this week is to be fancy free. I want to return my brain to a state of rest. Housework be darned this week!
