My Sumemrtime Jamlist

I have been all about my itunes lately. I'm trying to not have the Tv in the background so much, but instead amazing music...just more inspiring I guess.

So, I have been listening to some new music recently acquired and also Pandora.com.
I LOVE Pandora!
I just put in the name of a band that I already know I like and I end up finding about 20 other bands that I love just as much!

Anyhow, as I have been playing around with my music so much I thought I would share with you my Summer jamlist!
These are songs that you would play in the car on your way to the beach, or relax to under the stars during these last fleeting nights of summer.
Enjoy and happy Wednesday!

Crochet stripes!

I have to say that I think my crochet education is progressing quite nicely !
I learned how to crochet stripes today!
I always thought it would be more difficult to crochet with multiple colors but it was so easy, there were just extra ends to tie in at the end.
So, of course I used my newly gained knowledge to make ....
more cup sleeves!!

I'm so excited!
What do you think?

New Venture!

Hello everyone!
I have been a woman obsessed this week! On a mission!
As you all know I am learning to crochet. I have been on this quest for about 6 months now and I have decided to give myself a deadline of the end of the calendar year and then I must learn something new! However...I looove to crochet and I have taken on a new project that has had me stitching at every chance I get !

I don't know if you remember the cup sleeve that I made....or all the others that followed.
I made the first one because I thought it was just a fun idea (and I certainly drink enough coffee/tea to put it to good use!) well, I ended up making a few more in different colors because I just loved that I was rising to the challenge of the new project!
Before too long I had way too many to use by myself so I started making them for friends as gifts.

Well, I got a ton of compliments on them (so sweet!) and I enjoy making them so much and I'm so pleased that other people like them too that I am in the process of setting up a website to sell them!

It all started with this gargantuan pile of yarn and a slight (ok major) button hoarding problem.
Here are some of my favorites so far!

Cup sleeve family!
Also , my lovely little sleeves were featured at Pink with Ruffles today by Nikki!

I have so much more to share about this new and fun project...back soon!

Hello Monday!

Alright, so I have been a bit absent from this lovely place lately. I have some new and exciting things happening that are awesome!
Here's what has been going on with me lately....

1. work work working at Starbucks

2. I've been having lots of crafts dates lately with lovely ladies Andrea and Nikki!

3. I've started photography lessons with my husband Matt to learn the specifics so that I can work at weddings with him!

4. I have decided to give myself a time limit to learn crochet. I have so many things that I want to learn as far a crafting goes. I have been crocheting now for a very long time but before I move on to the next thing I want to learn a few more things , specifically how to make granny squares , work in a round, how to increase and decrease.
I think I will give myself until the end of the year to make all these things like second nature to me!
Next up? Who knows ....maybe sewing??
( I got a sewing machine last Christmas that I don't even know how to thread.)

5. Last but not least....I am thinking about putting on a small craft fair. There aren't ever really any chances for crafters to showcase their work here in Tampa . I would love to do just a fun free night where crafters can show off their goods, and ladies can come for snacks, and pretty things!

I have some fun things coming up this week! And I will try to be better about taking photos along the way (especially now that I will know what I am doing! )
I'm going to share a Summer playlist and a lovely shop filled with handmade delights later on in the week!

Is there anyone else....

....that thinks this movie is magic?
Every time I watch it I like it more!
This movie is so honest and witty, when I'm done watching I just want to start it over again.
(which is what I did when I was 6 with the Little Mermaid)
If you have not yet seen this film I highly* recommend it!

Also...I just got the soundtrack (which is also amazing)
And there's a tiny bit of Monday randomness to kick off the week!

Pretty little wreaths

Recently, during a far-too-long voyage into blogland and the internet black hole I commonly fall into I found some really cute things!
I often get stuck online looking at all kinds of beautiful things,
one page leads to another, leads to another, ect....
( I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about)
Before I know it I have been on the computer for hours looking at photography websites, and crafting pages , just soaking it all up!
Anyhow, I saw some adorable everyday wreaths. I'm used to seeing wreaths around the holidays but I just love the idea of year-round wreaths that can change with your mood!

Here are some that I found and liked best!

( This butterfly wreath I found on a Beautiful Mess)

(these three above I found on WeHeartIt.com)

I saw some lovely things and thought to myself.....hey!hey! I can do that!
So, as I am a little obsessed with pom-poms lately I tried a pom-pom wreath first!
It was still a little more plain than I wanted so I added a crocheted bow!
I got so excited about making this pom-pom wreath that it didn't even occur to me until I was completely finished that it doesn't go with my household decor at all!
Luckily I have a friend with two little girls , and these colors went perfectly with their room!
So, I got to do another thing I love.....giving presents!

Ok, I'm getting a little obsessed....

With these!!
I made a pretty darn cute cup sleeve ( I think) a little while ago, and I loved it so much I decided to make it some friends!

I love small projects that I can finish quickly, they give me such a sense of achievement and are perfect for my short attention span!

I just love choosing the colors of yarn and then picking which buttons to use...what fun!
